1. What loom Does

loom is an open-source research tool that helps users locate publicly available social profiles associated with an email address or phone number.

We do not provide background checks, credit checks, consumer reports, or any service regulated under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

loom gathers and organizes publicly accessible information.

We do not hack, breach, bypass, or access private accounts.

2. Who Can Use loom

You may use loom only if:

  • You are at least 18 years old;
  • You use loom for lawful purposes only;
  • You agree not to misuse the platform or violate any laws while using it.

If you are using loom on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to these Terms.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use loom to:

  • Harass, stalk, doxx, threaten, or harm another person;
  • Engage in discrimination, fraud, or impersonation;
  • Make decisions related to employment, housing, insurance, credit, or other FCRA-regulated purposes;

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

4. No FCRA Purpose

loom is not a Consumer Reporting Agency and does not provide Consumer Reports.

You may not use loom for:

  • Hiring, firing, or employment screening
  • Tenant screening
  • Credit decisions
  • Insurance underwriting
  • Any legally regulated eligibility decision

Using loom for these purposes is strictly prohibited.

5. Accuracy & Limitations

loom surfaces publicly available data.

Because data can change, be incomplete, or appear differently across platforms:

  • We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or currentness of any results.
  • You agree that you use the information at your own risk.
  • You understand that results may not reflect the full digital presence of any individual.

loom does not verify the identity of the person associated with any result.

6. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect data.

By using loom, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not sell personal data.

We only process search inputs to deliver results.

7. Subscriptions, Payments, and Refunds

If you purchase a paid plan:

  • All fees are listed clearly at checkout.
  • Payments are processed through secure third-party providers.
  • Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
  • Refunds are issued only as described in our Refund Policy (if applicable).

We may modify pricing with reasonable notice.

8. Intellectual Property

loom, its design, code, brand assets, and proprietary elements are our property.

Users may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works without permission.

Users retain rights to any content they submit, but grant us a license to use it for operating the service.

We cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

11. Limitation of Liability

  • loom is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • loom’s total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid (if any) in the last 12 months.

You agree to use loom at your own risk.

You agree to indemnify and hold loom harmless from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses arising from your misuse of the platform or violation of these Terms.

13. Termination
